  • Full colour, grayscale or black and white.

What does PDF to PNG do?

PDF to PNG renders each page of your PDF as a separate PNG image at the resolution you choose. PNG is lossless, so text, lines and charts stay sharp with no compression artefacts. That makes it a good fit for slides, screenshots, documentation and text-heavy pages. Choose full colour, grayscale or black and white.

How do I get high quality PNG images from a PDF?

For high quality PNG images, choose 300 dpi, or enter a custom resolution up to 600 dpi. 150 dpi is enough for screens. Very large pages are limited to 100 megapixels; if a page goes over, the resolution is lowered and we tell you.

Does PDF to PNG keep transparency?

No, pages are rendered on a white background, so the PNG files are not transparent. If you want the photos and logos inside the PDF rather than whole pages, use Extract images from PDF. For smaller files, try PDF to JPG.

Your files are deleted automatically after 2 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Is PDF to PNG high quality?

Yes. PNG is lossless, so text and lines stay sharp, and you can render at 300 dpi or any value up to 600 dpi for print-quality images. Higher resolutions make larger files.

Should I convert a PDF to PNG or JPG?

Choose PNG for text, diagrams and screenshots, because it is lossless and keeps edges crisp. Choose JPG for photos, where it gives much smaller files.

Can I convert a PDF to a transparent PNG?

No. Each page is rendered on a white background, the way it looks in a PDF reader, so the PNG has no transparent areas.

What resolution should I use for PDF to PNG?

150 dpi suits screens and sharing. 300 dpi suits printing. Higher values make larger files.

Can I convert only some pages to PNG?

Yes. Enter the pages or a range under More options. Each page becomes one PNG named after the PDF and page number, such as report-3.png, and several images arrive as a ZIP.

Is it safe to convert a PDF to PNG online?

Yes. Files are processed on our servers, encrypted in transit, and deleted automatically after 2 hours. You can also delete them right away from the result screen.
