How do I fix a damaged PDF file?
To fix a damaged PDF file, add it to Repair PDF and select Repair PDF; the tool rebuilds the file structure and saves every page it can recover to a new PDF. It tries several recovery methods in order, from a light rebuild to re-rendering the pages, and keeps the best result. If the first attempt is not enough, run it again with Deep repair turned on.
How do I recover a PDF that was cut off?
A PDF that was cut off, for example by an interrupted download, can often be recovered in full, because the pages themselves are usually intact. Repair PDF rebuilds the file structure around them and tells you how many pages were saved.
What can I do after repairing a PDF?
Once the file opens again, you can continue with any other tool. Use Compress PDF to make the recovered file smaller, or OCR PDF if Deep repair turned pages into images and you need searchable text again.

What does Deep repair do?
Deep repair renders every readable page again and builds a new file. It can fix files that nothing else opens, but forms and other interactive elements may be lost.
