  • Full colour, grayscale or black and white.
  • Choose pages or a range, and one multi-page TIFF if you need it.

What is PDF to TIFF used for?

PDF to TIFF turns each PDF page into a TIFF image, the format many archiving, fax, scanning and print workflows expect. The images are lossless: colour and grayscale pages use LZW compression, and black and white pages use CCITT Group 4. Choose 72, 150 or 300 dpi, or any value up to 600 dpi.

How do I convert a PDF to one multi-page TIFF?

To get a single file, turn on One multi-page TIFF before you select Convert to images. All the pages you chose are saved in one .tif file, in page order. Leave it off to get one TIFF per page, named after the PDF and page number.

Can I convert TIFF back to PDF?

Yes, use TIFF to PDF to turn TIFF images back into a PDF. If you need another image format, PDF to image also saves pages as JPG, PNG or WEBP.

Your files are deleted automatically after 2 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a PDF to a multi-page TIFF?

Yes. Turn on One multi-page TIFF and all the selected pages are saved in a single .tif file. Otherwise each page becomes its own TIFF, and several files arrive as a ZIP.

Is TIF the same as TIFF?

Yes. TIF and TIFF are two spellings of the same image format. PDFDaily saves files with the .tif extension, which any TIFF viewer opens.

What resolution should I use for TIFF?

300 dpi is the usual choice for printing and archiving, and 150 dpi is enough for viewing on screen. You can enter any value up to 600 dpi; higher values make larger files.

Can I make a black and white TIFF?

Yes. Choose black and white and each page is saved as a 1-bit TIFF with CCITT Group 4 compression, which keeps text pages small. Colour and grayscale TIFFs use lossless LZW compression.

What happens to my PDF after converting to TIFF?

They are processed on our servers, encrypted in transit, and deleted automatically after 2 hours. You can also delete them right away from the result screen.

Is PDF to TIFF free?

Yes, within the free limits. File size, page count and tasks per day depend on your plan; the exact limits are shown on the page before you upload anything, and a free account raises them.
