Free: files up to 200 MB, up to 50 files. No daily limit.

N-up puts several PDF pages on each sheet (2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16 or 32 per sheet), so you can print handouts or save paper without changing the original pages.

What can N-up do?

  • Runs in your browser: your files never leave your device.
  • 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16 or 32 pages per sheet.
  • Order horizontal or vertical, and right-to-left for books read that way.
  • Sheet size: same as original, A4, A3, Letter or Tabloid.
  • Orientation, margin, gap between pages and an optional border.
  • Links and comments are not kept.

How do I put multiple pages on one sheet?

N-up places several PDF pages on each sheet, from 2 to 32, in a new PDF that you can print or share. Common choices are 2 for side-by-side reading copies and 4 for handouts, with 6, 8, 9, 16 and 32 for thumbnails and proof sheets. Your original file is not changed.

What layout options are there?

You can set the order, sheet size, orientation, margin, gap and border of each N-up sheet. Fill the grid across then down, or down then across, and turn on right-to-left for books read that way. The sheet can match the original or be A4, A3, Letter or Tabloid, in portrait or landscape. Add a margin around the sheet, a gap between pages and a thin border so pages are easy to tell apart.

What are the limits of N-up?

N-up places pages as flat content, so links and comments are not kept, and small print gets smaller at higher counts.

The tool runs in your browser, so your file is not uploaded. To change the paper size without combining pages, use Resize pages.

Frequently asked questions

What is an N-up PDF?

An N-up PDF has N original pages on each sheet; 4-up, for example, shows four pages in a grid. It saves paper and makes handouts.

How do I print 2 pages per sheet from a PDF?

Choose 2 pages per sheet in N-up, pick the sheet size and select Create N-up PDF. Then print the new PDF as normal, one sheet per page.

How many pages can I put on one sheet?

2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16 or 32. The pages are scaled down, so for text-heavy pages 2, 4 or 6 keeps small print readable.

Are links kept?

No. Links and comments are not kept, because the pages are placed as flat content.

Can I draw a border around each page?

Yes. Turn on the border option, and set a gap and margin if you like.

Are my files uploaded when I print several PDF pages on one sheet?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share the result or save it to a cloud drive.
