What can Crop PDF do?

  • Runs in your browser: your files never leave your device.
  • Manual: set top, right, bottom and left in millimetres or inches, with a shaded preview.
  • Automatic: find the white space and apply the same trim to all pages.
  • Automatic per page: trim each page by its own content.
  • Apply to all pages, the first page, a range, or odd and even pages with separate margins.
  • Cropped content is hidden, not deleted.

How do I trim PDF margins?

Crop PDF trims PDF margins in one of three ways:

  • Manual lets you enter how much to remove from the top, right, bottom and left, in millimetres or inches, and shades the part that goes on a preview of the first page.
  • Automatic finds the empty margins and applies the same trim to every page, so the layout stays consistent.
  • Automatic per page trims each page to its own content.

Can I crop odd and even pages differently?

Yes: choose odd and even pages separately and set different margins for each. This suits scanned books, where the binding margin changes sides. You can also crop only the first page or a range of pages.

Does cropping delete content?

No: cropping hides the area outside the crop, but that content is still stored in the file. By default the page size also changes to match the crop, and you can turn that off under More options. If you need to remove something sensitive for good, use Redact PDF instead.

The crop runs in your browser and your file is not uploaded. To add white space rather than remove it, use Add margins to PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove white margins from a PDF?

Choose Automatic or Automatic per page and select Crop PDF. The tool finds the white space around your content and trims it, and blank pages stay as they are.

What is the difference between the automatic modes?

Automatic uses one trim for every page, so pages keep a consistent layout. Automatic per page trims each page tightly, which can give pages different sizes.

Is the cropped part really deleted?

No. The area outside the crop is hidden, and the content is still in the file. To remove it permanently, use Redact PDF.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes, in Manual mode. Apply the crop to all pages, the first page only, a range such as 3-10, or odd and even pages with separate margins.

Can I crop a PDF in inches?

Yes. Switch the unit between millimetres and inches.

Are my files uploaded when I crop a PDF?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share the result or save it to a cloud drive.
